Ancrum Drama Group - Forward Plans

The Group was formed at the latter end of last year and performed a selection of 5 comedy sketches for after dinner entertainment for a Hall committee fund raising evening.
It was very well received and the enthusiasm from everyone involved motivated us on to perform our debut Spring performances recently.
The two nights were complete sell outs and we are still receiving cards and letters of congratulations.
It may still be our first year as a Drama group, but we have a busy schedule ahead (all being well and fingers crossed).

At the moment we are investigating the possibilities of performing a village promenade ghost walk this Autumn. We are researching Ancrum's history to make sure all our 'ghosts' are based on real characters from our village.
Following the ghost walk, we will be performing a play around Armistice Day to raise funds for improvements to the village hall.
We'll be having a wee break over the Christmas period and then straight into auditions and rehearsals for our entry into the Scottish Community Drama Association's One-act Play Festival which will be held in Kelso's Tait Hall next February.
We will perform the play in the village possibly the week prior to the competition to encourage local support to join us in Kelso.

Locals will be very welcome to join the group, as support is always needed - you don't have to be able to perform on stage, there are plenty of other jobs to be done!
